1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other top iRobot models (including the top pick), they use intelligent mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet They are also adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.
Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and operates when you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had mixed flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using a single pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.
