However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good value, especially if your office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you're at work or in school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and automatic vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the rivals. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry the mop pads.
