The Best
Robot Hoover -
Ezproxy.Cityu.Edu.Hk,
The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detectors) are positives.
Check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them if needed. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin in the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. They also come with carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it detects the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.
Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great deal for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you need to change the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time to provide cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.
It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different flooring types including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other
robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models, this mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an easy mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.
It's also a bit costly, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some additional cost it's a capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty those areas are.
If you own a larger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to inform the
robot vacuum cleaner of which area of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For families that are busy, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be very useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad that has an oscillating motion that cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app also grants access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we've test. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
