Robot vacuums and mops are getting more efficient. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and can take care of various floors. Choose models that permit users to select between different modes, self-empty and clean stairs.

Many of the best automatic vacuum models work with smartphones. Check for an app that lets you save maps, create schedules, and choose cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It uses lidar for navigation and creates maps of rooms and floors.

The S1 was able to map my downstairs quickly, which has linoleum in the kitchen, dining area and bathrooms, as well as carpet in the middle and a large area. It was capable of driving up to walls and even cross raised thresholds without any problems. However it had some issues navigating down the stairs in one pass. The S1 performed admirably in cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and lifted itself when it came to carpets or rugs.

Prior to each mopping session the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and refills its water tank with filtered, clean water ozonated. The dock provides a deep-cleaning solution for the water. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however it will differ dependent on how often you use the mop.

The S1 requires periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. For this, you'll need to wash the dirty water tank occasionally to keep it from becoming clogged. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors frequently to avoid them from becoming clogged with dirt or dust. Overall the S1 is easy to maintain, especially when compared to other combos that require more care.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-one robotic cleaner and mop vacuum and mop combo from Ecovacs is a powerful option for your cleaning needs. Its robot vacuum boasts 8,700Pa of suction and offers numerous innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that avoids obstacles and cleans around furniture. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive, with mops that rotate that actually lift and scrub the floor, as opposed to just dragging the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned and dried at the base station if required.

This robot has an easy-to-use interface that guides you through the process. It includes an electric hand vacuum that can be recharged to reach those areas the robot isn't able to reach and two water tanks that are automatically empty and replenished whenever needed. It comes with a variety of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does well at vacuuming, with strong suction that easily picks up most debris and even the smaller pieces of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty robust, however it can sometimes get caught up on the small carpets or area mats that I have in my home (which is something you can reduce by defining a virtual boundary within the app). Mopping capabilities are very good and include a pair of mop heads that lift and scrub the floor instead of moving the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation as needed. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as required.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop was released earlier this year. But their new flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-off maintenance, making it a clear contender on our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush guarantee a thorough, custom-designed clean.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, it can remove both large and fine debris. It works equally well on hard floors and carpets. It was able to clean the dirtiest areas of our tests with ease by avoiding pet hairs as well as other dirt. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop designed to do exactly that. It is easy to connect it to your home WiFI network and also works with Alexa or Apple Siri.

The Q5 is an unadorned version of the company's more expensive S-series models. It includes the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It is equipped with a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but cuts down on price by eliminating the mopping functionality and by using a cheaper plastic body.

The Q5 is still one of the most powerful vacuums and mopping machines we've ever seen in this price range even though it's not able to clean your floor. It has a suction power of 5500Pa and an automatic-empty system so you don't need to empty the bin manually every time. It comes with a smart app that lets you schedule cleaning times and determine the floor type. It also has an automatic water tank filling system and washing system for hands-free operation.

Its mops are also impressive, with 2700Pa of power to tackle dirt, dust and pet hair on hard floors and carpets. The Q5 is among the few robots we test that didn't have issues with high-pile carpets or area carpets, but it didn't clean up cables or kitty litter and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise since it does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robot vacuum we've ever tested. It also features an innovative mapping system that allows it to reach corners and tight places that other vacuums are unable to. It also collects more dust in a larger bin, so you don't need to empty it as often. It also has washable filters, which can further cut costs. This robot can detect carpets, and increase suction when needed. You can also mark areas you would like to be able to keep from using the app.
