The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers can be a great option for those looking to get rid of mopping off their list of things to do. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a
robot vacuum with mop vacuum that also mops then this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt, pet hair, and droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop rotates at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've tried. It doesn't make the same amount of noise while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is separate from the
automatic vacuum cleaner and mop. It is simple to install, and it works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum for mopping you must be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for an efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and find furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and intelligently. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach an array of surface areas. This includes corners and baseboards as well as other difficult-to-access spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can extend to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.
This device has a fairly high price tag but has a variety of smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device is subject to recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.
This
robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. It has the power button that serves as a general "Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning task. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. It's a top-performing device, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1
robot vacuum best vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that includes a microfiber pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of collecting hair of pets. It was able to capture a lot of the hair that our cats shed, and even made it into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots had struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to signal that it was beginning and finishing its work.
The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive
robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it comes with some distinctive features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as a 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.
The base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch on the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It will not work until you untangle it manually. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert in its app.
Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't too bad except for the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
