The
best robot vacuum cleaner and mop Robot Vacuum That MopsNoah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. His main focus is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to take mopping off their to-do list. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other options on this list making it easier to navigate in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through a clean.
It's quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull away debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as good. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like broken toys and books.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It's easy to install and is effective, but this is something that you'll have to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and intelligently. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning that's also fairly quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surface areas. They can reach corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be washed and dried to prevent build-up and reduce odors.
Another notable feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the intensity of its suction and select between a back-and-forth or slightly more random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.
The device has a expensive price, but has a variety of advanced features. However, it's important to note that it incurs regular expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.
This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. The
robot vacuum cleaner vacuum also has an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a 'Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one vacuum and mop. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise map of your floorplan which it uses to determine the path to follow when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to protect certain areas of your house from being scrubbed with mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect some of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some pleasant jingles to inform you that it was in the process of finishing its work.
Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to switch between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot store multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it comes with some unique features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and an 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.
The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock's
automatic hoover emptying procedure. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking
robot hoover and mop, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxy models.
