Best Robot Vacuum That MopsNoah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to get mopping off their to-do list. Some models have superior navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.
It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one sweep. The suction motor's 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger debris like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to set up and performs well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping, you will need to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a wide range of features.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and also detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively rapid.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards, and other difficult-to-access spots. They also have a flexible side brush that can be extended to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen the smell.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it will make, which will determine the speed at which the device can move through your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
This device has a fairly high price tag but is packed with a wide array of advanced features. It is important to remember, however, that the device incurs recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and the mop pads should be changed every one to three months.
This robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes a wide range of physical automation features. It has the power button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station after completing its cleaning session. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The
best robot hoover is divided into two parts that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module that includes microfiber pads. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.
Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its
best robot hoover feature was its precise floorplan, which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which can help to shield certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair from pets. It was able capture a large amount of hair shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was quiet and had some lovely jingles to let you know when it was beginning or finishing its work.
Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the necessity to change out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which could be a problem if you have a home with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive
robot vacuums that mop vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some unique features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin and the 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start cleaning, recall the
robot vacuums best, or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. This was a rare incident however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert in its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
