Robot vacuums and mops are getting more powerful. They pass our tests on cleaning and can handle different flooring. Select models that allow users to select between different modes, self-empty and clean stairs.
Many of the best models work with your smartphone. Find an app that allows you to save schedules, maps and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and-gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combos available on the market. It makes use of lidar to navigate, creating maps of floors and rooms.
The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which includes flooring in the dining area, kitchen and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile and a large rug. It was able to drive close to walls without colliding with them, and was able to cross raised room thresholds with no issue, though it occasionally was unable to navigate down stairs in a single move. The S1 also did a fantastic job cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving smoothly on the flat side against the floor and lifting its own weight when it reaches carpet or carpet.
The S1's docking station automatically emptys its trash bin and replenishes its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. The dock also adds a cleaning solution to the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can be able to accommodate 12 mopping sessions, however it will differ depending on the frequency you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires regular maintenance to ensure that it's operating efficiently. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to prevent it from becoming blocked. It is also necessary to clean your sensor and swivel wheel frequently to prevent them from getting clogged up with dirt or dust. However, overall the S1 is simple to maintain, especially when compared to other combinations that require more hands-on maintenance.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robot mop and vacuum from Ecovacs is a powerful option to meet your cleaning requirements. The robot vacuum has 8,700Pa suction power and comes with many innovative features including voice control and smart path planning that cleans around furniture and avoids obstacles. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive, with rotating mops that actually lift and scrub the floor, rather than simply dragging the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned and dried at the base station when required.
This robot combo is easy to setup and use, and has a clear interface that guides you through the process. It comes with a hand vacuum that recharges for those hard-to-reach areas that the robot can't reach as well as two water tanks that are automatically empty and replenished whenever needed. It comes with a range of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a good vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful suction that is able to easily remove dust and debris that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, too, even though it is sometimes hung in the small area mats or rugs that I have in my home (which is something you can mitigate by creating a virtual boundary in the app). The mopping capabilities are quite excellent, too, with a pair of spinning mops that actually lift and scrub the floors, as opposed to just dragging the pad over it. The mops can be cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station as required. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when needed.
3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year however their latest top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum comes with more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-off maintenance making it a top contender on our top robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush ensure a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra vacuums well, it can remove both large and fine debris. It is a great choice on hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our tests' dirtiest areas well, keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other dirt. The sweeping capabilities are augmented by a side brush that automatically swings out to tackle hard-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that deploys alongside baseboards.
Its navigation is smart it can navigate through tiny spaces and negotiating stairs without skipping a step. It can easily move from one room to another without having to reverse direction which is a great feature for homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than other models however, and tends to leave a large distance around obstacles, which could result in missed spots.
The app's interface is intuitive and easy to use. It should be easy to use for both novices and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and control cleanings. You can also adjust suction power, mop setting and view 2D and 3-D maps. It can be controlled through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri which allows you to monitor its progress from anywhere. You can even remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. But, you'll require a reliable Wi-Fi connection in order to operate it via the app as well as external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
robot hoover and mop vacuums are excellent in removing dirt and debris but they aren't able to reach every bit of dust. It's essential to clean your home often, at least once a week. This is especially true for dust that accumulates in corners, on shelves, and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot designed to do exactly that. It's easy to connect to your home Wi-Fi network, and integrates with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more practical addition to your daily cleaning routine.
The Q5 is an edgier version of the company's expensive S-series models, which include the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It has the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it's less expensive because it doesn't come with mopping capabilities and has an aluminum body.
The Q5 remains one of the most powerful mopping and vacuums we've ever seen in this price range even though it's not able to wipe your floor. It has powerful 5500Pa suction and an auto-empty system, which means you don't need to empty the bin manually every time. It also has a clever app that lets you set your floor's type and schedule cleanings. It also has an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system to allow hands-free operation.
Its mops are also impressive, with 2700Pa of power to tackle dust, dirt, and pet hair on carpets and hard floors. The Q5 is among the few robots we tested that didn't have any issues with high-pile carpets or area rugs, but it couldn't remove kitty litter or cable tangles that's not a surprise since it does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the most quiet robovacs that we have tested. It also has a unique method to map your home, which will allow it to enter the corners and tight spaces that other vacuums cannot reach. This device also has a larger bin, so you don't need to empty it as frequently. Additionally, it has washable filters which further reduces the cost of using the device. The robot can also recognize carpets and increase suction if required. The app also allows you to mark areas that you want it to stay clear of and is a great feature.
