The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Be sure to regularly examine the brushes of your robot for hair tangled as well as large debris and clean them as needed. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger one at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have examined. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. They also feature carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work, or school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto vacuum and mop-emptying dock, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to provide better cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when it's in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is perfect for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuums best vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something hasn't been seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models this mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive looking models in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. If you're willing some more volume and some additional cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features to help you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum mop cleaner robot cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home depending on how dirty they tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, you should consider choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. Also, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app also gives access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs to remove pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that scours a specific area.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgThe Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
