Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its affordable price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual can get you running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For example, you can opt for the robot to do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it can crash into walls and objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that indicates when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its course automatically and clean around them without stumbling.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-refilling.
The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading
robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to reach under low-profile furniture which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice touch that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end
robot hoover that is among the most expensive models available, but it packs in many additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other
robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with many features that aren't offered on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
