1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is an excellent option for those looking for a an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the
robot vacuum cleaner for sale after it has filled up.
Both robots are proficient in removing dirt and dust particles on hard floors and carpets and are able to move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart map of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we evaluated the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features which means it can be stuck on things like socks or power cords and may have issues traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might come across. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it started. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes 3 hours to charge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is the
top rated robot vacuum model in iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot via the app or by voice.
In our testing the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin which removes major maintenance sources and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to begin or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a world of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and collect large dust or crumbs. It has three suction modes to suit the task at hand. It can quickly change between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.
The model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100% in 3.5 hours. It also gives easy access to 2 attachments as well as the handheld. This is a major improvement over earlier Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The biggest issue with the V10 is its limited run time. The claims of its marketing that it can last up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is an average and not a remarkable time to run the battery-powered cordless vacuum. This is still enough to get rid of the majority of a home that's average size, but not quite long enough to clean every area (though the second time around usually can be effective). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior for carpet floors with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic
best robot cleaner vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up all types of debris and sizes during our testing, and it often goes over the same areas multiple times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and edges of walls.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, including our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It may get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, has more advanced automation abilities and can better maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled by the voice assistant on your smartphone. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and can perform better on floors with low pile and bare.

In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller objects like cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models we've tested, and this could be a deterrent for some shoppers.
The app lets you access the onboard camera of the
smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's area of cleaning. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned for the quick and easy cleaning.
