The
Best Robot HooverThe
best automatic vacuum robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detectors) are both positives.
Examine your robot's brush frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin located at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature which boosts the
robot vacuum best's power when it detects an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.
It's still a good value for those whose home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in minutes.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robotic hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors that help it keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and ensure cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.
It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could complete the task of cleaning a whole home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our tests. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work or at night when you're trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however, it's more expensive and create more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on how dirty they are.
For larger houses it's worth looking for models with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home using the app or voice controls. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Finally the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app also gives access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums we have examined. It also comes with an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
