The 8.5 cm height allows it to fit under furniture with ease, while front cameras and infrared sensors aid it navigate around obstacles and thresholds with ease.
In our test of how well it cleaned baking soda close to baseboards and in corners the Scout RX3 was impressive. Its suction of 2,500 Pa was less powerful than some other robots, but it moved quickly and was quiet. It didn't mop, however, and its removable cleaning pads were difficult to attach and could not deal with dried-on dirt.
The app is on the basic side and lacks features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa however its voice controls aren't precise or responsive. And it's also a little unreliable when it comes getting back to the charging station after running -- other robots can trace a previous path or sensibly follow a wall around until they reach their destination, but the RX3 is a fumbler until it quits and sends a failure message to your phone.
Another issue we encountered was with its intelligent features, specifically the mapping function and the digital keep-out zones. It was great at keeping our shoes and furniture legs away, but it was easily caught on cables, socks, and rug. We decided not to include the Scout RX3 in our Best Buy list. With a decent price and a dazzling performance it's a Scout RX3 is worth considering when you're looking for an alternative to the traditional uprights.
