The
best robot vacuum and mop robot hoover (
a cool way to improve)
The
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its affordable price and high-end functions (such as a dirt detectors) are positives.
Make sure you regularly examine the brushes of your robot for tangled hair and large particles, and wash them when required. Some models will also empty the onboard dust bin and place it in a larger bin at the bottom. This can reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they employ intelligent mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.
However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also very quiet and operates while you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to ensure better cleaning. You can modify the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It has advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's an eerily noisy device that could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, but it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient, but it's more expensive and create more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line
robot vacuum cleaners uk vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.
The smart robot uses a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.
Its vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also comes with an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the home based on how dirty those areas are.
If you have a bigger home, it's worth selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stair mode can be useful if you own a number of furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans the area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we have tested. It also has an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
