Peru Organic

The production of coffee in Peru is mostly dominated by small farms of just a few hectares or less, and farmers typically form cooperatives to share the cost of equipment and access to markets for their produce. Additionally, there is a growing number of farmers who choose to grow organically to improve the quality of their crops and to reduce the use of pesticides on their property.
The farm from which this coffee comes, Cenfrocafe, is located in the provinces of Jaen and San Ignacio in north western Peru near the border with Ecuador. The coop is made up of 2400 coop member farmers who cultivate their coffee on small plots between 1300 to 2000 meters, 4300 to 6500 feet, at the highest elevations of the region. The farmers are meticulous to ensure that the harvest is picked when it is needed to get the most out of the beans.
Our Peru organic coffee is fully cleaned, and then dried in the sun to give it a unique deep, rich flavor. The high altitude in this region results in a rich medium-bodied, medium-bodied coffee with a moderate citric acidity.
Women in Peru grow this

The Spanish introduced Ethiopian coffee to Peru in the 16th century. The country has been a major player in the international coffee trade ever since. It is now one of the top five producers of Arabica.
The country is home to small farming families that have largely formed cooperatives. They are now able to access fair trade prices and sell their beans directly. Small farms are also aided by using eco-friendly methods to minimize the environmental impact on their coffee production.

Colombian

It also has the ability to produce a wide range of exquisite, sought-after and distinctive coffees. Colombian coffees are mellow, yet full-bodied flavor and pleasantly acidic taste. They are also famous for their sweetness and pleasantly acidic taste.
Traditionally, Colombian coffee has been grown at elevations of between
1 kg of coffee beans,200 - 2,000 meters above sea level. Here, the top Colombian coffee beans are grown and harvested. The finest quality Colombian beans are typically referred to as Supremo. This refers to the size of the coffee (screen sizes 17 and 18).
After harvest, the cherries are carefully selected by hand, making sure that only ripe and healthy beans are able to make it through the remainder of the process. At this point the ripe fruit is separated from the beans, which are dried and washed in the sun. The coffee beans that have been washed are then graded and sorted by quality control teams in accordance with size, colour, and density.
