Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot gathered by enemies or gotten from chests or missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players must select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the necessary component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of the item's name. For example the addition of a Glyph will transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from previous versions. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level up however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading the upgrade costs across multiple items.

This will enable the item upgrades to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's class. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes available for it, whereas legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests, depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item does not reach its max level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers utilize a level to measure the height of the building against an established point, such as a benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential aspect of the game and can increase an item's damage, strength, or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the item upgrades menu or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to obtain tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This could be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a bonus that boosts the item's power by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are offered in addition to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.

The game also features various sets which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on a unit. This is a good way to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. Rerolling is a way to create a more powerful character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can be of various dimensions, contain no elements at all or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or to sort information. They are also useful in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Some items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons do not improve the item's stats much in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have many armor pieces or weapons.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their levels. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and improve their performance in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item as well as the required items to upgrade it. This will display the item upgrade's attributes, along with the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant increase in their performance. This will also increase the defense of armor with an updated appearance.
