Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to cross mopping off the to-do list. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through an efficient.

It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt, pet hair, and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull out debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as good. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into difficult corners or along baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuum cleaners best vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It is simple to install, and it works well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping you must pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgThe Q Revo is different from other robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a range of features.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and effectively. This results in an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surfaces. These include corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also deactivate the side brush in order to avoid damaging carpets and rug.

The device has a high price tag but has a variety of innovative features. However, it's important to remember that it carries periodic expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be replaced every one to three month.

This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad range of physical automation features. This includes a power button that serves as a general "Clean button, as well as a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station after completing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two parts, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module that has microfiber pads. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.

Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan map, which it uses to create a route when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able capture a large amount of hair shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was fairly quiet and even had some lovely jingles to indicated when it was beginning or finishing its work.

The app was too easy and you had to switch the modules every time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't store multiple maps, which can be a pain if you have a home that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base comes with a few control buttons that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to switch on the child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgLike other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
