Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one time without the need to change devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and also vacuums well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you want for each room.
For instance, you could choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs must be completed including emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand however we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its path and clean around the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.
The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's life. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot
autonomous vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 is the first
robot vacuum cleaner best best automatic vacuum and mop cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for pads. In addition the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
Another notable feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to reach under low-profile furniture, making it a great option for smaller apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is simple and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end
robot vacuums that mop that's one of the most expensive available, but it packs in numerous additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature on its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other
robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a great way of keeping your home clean for longer.
There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are many features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
