Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His focus is on robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those who wish to cross mopping off the to-do list. Some models have superior mapping capabilities and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to navigate into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers one of my top navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.

It's very quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa suction motor makes short work of picking up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like books and broken toys.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It doesn't make the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective, but this is something that you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a variety of features.

The device has an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and locate furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and effectively. This results in a thorough, consistent clean that's also fairly fast.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.

Another noteworthy feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

The device comes with a expensive price, but has a variety of innovative features. It's crucial to remember that it carries periodic costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every three month.

This robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean button' and a 'Home button to send it back home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who wants a cleaner home without spending much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life make it simple to keep a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one mop and vacuum. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping unit that has a microfiber pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may seem a bit old-fashioned, but they do mean that you don't need to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise floorplan which it uses to draw a route when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which help to shield specific areas of your home from being swept with a mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to capture many of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots have struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some nice jingles that indicated when it was about to start or finished its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the necessity to switch between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't hold multiple maps, which can be a problem for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock that doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start cleaning and then recall the robot vacuum cleaners reviews or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off a child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. This is a rare event, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy units.robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpg
