It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.

It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the two side brushes help to tease out dirt from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and fallen books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest best robot hoover mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to install and performs well. Its greatest feature was its accurate map of your floorplan which it uses to determine a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to shield certain areas of your house from being scrubbed with a mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture many of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots had struggled. It was quiet and had some nice jingles that let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too simple and you had to switch the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app cannot save multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its massive dock, which doubles as a charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and an automatic vacuum cleaner and mop 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base has a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
