The
Best Robot Vacuum That MopsNoah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who want to get rid of mopping off their list of things to do. Some models have superior mapping and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models and makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the
best robot vacuum navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic
vacuum mop cleaner robot. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes if cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.
It's quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into narrow corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to set up, and it works well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping it is important to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home, identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This will ensure an even and thorough clean and is also rapid.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach an array of surfaces. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads can be washed and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce odors.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rug.
The device has a expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of advanced features. It's crucial to keep in mind that it has recurring costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has a power button which doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The
robot vacuum with mop is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with a microfiber pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting pet hair. It was able capture an enormous amount of hair that our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was fairly quiet and had some nice jingles that indicated when it was starting or finishing its work.
Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to change between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't keep multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our review, but it comes with some distinctive features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as an 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base has a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to switch on the child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it is entangled in an obstacle like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. While it was not common however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert in its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.
On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxes.
