WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.
The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The
item upgrader allows players to
upgrade items their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that are used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via various methods which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will cost less, even if they belong to another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific
item Level Upgrade level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear with a certain rank. Each rank has distinct
upgrade item paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex
upgrade items requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the
item upgrades in the proper steps and routes.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
