Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new affixes. They can also increase its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with strong bases, like the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved in loot from enemies, or obtained from missions and chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs with a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from earlier versions. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item is able to be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of these items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Each upgrade requires an amount of Flightstones and crests depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item upgrader mod doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower success rate.

Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building with a known point, like a benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are built to a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game that can improve an item's damage, strength or other attributes. In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than other items. This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be a good or a bad thing, depending on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded Item Upgrader kit can be equipped with a special fixed-value bonus that boosts its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are rolled into the usual affixes. The more you improve an item, the better the chance of receiving the bonus of your choice.

Sets
