World of Warcraft
Item UpgradesItem upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it may increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level, and also boost other stats.
Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specified amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly dependent on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to perform. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be altered to upgrade an item.
The level of an
item upgrade is a widely used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips of items. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. Players can see their average level of item on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the item level. It's a sign of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done using the level of the item.
The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are many theories about the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth, and also that gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is usually close to Blizzard's actual item level.
However, this is not the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, as the level of the region the item dropped in can change the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Item stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game utilizes them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stat mods on weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.
Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.
Another way to change the stats of an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage, special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by naming them.
All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, similar to other rerolling methods.
Players can upgrade an item with a specific stat or reroll attaches. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an item that is unique, or a God Roll from a raid boss.
This is another aspect that can be modified by adding an option to
upgrade item the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to increase. Similar to the base equipment, it must be done per item and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats simultaneously.
Item Luck
The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the likelihood of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to
upgrade items. It merely gives players the possibility to obtain better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more valuable in early game runs than in later ones, because most players value more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances, which increase with each item level. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be improved by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) for a further +40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Additionally some items, such as the Hollow infused weapon, can be equipped to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be bought from the shop, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.
Best item upgrade Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..
The performance of an can be affected by the Luck of that item. All items have a base success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent.
The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above the items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
