World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of items is a crucial aspect of preparing your character. Upgrades increase the base damage and enchantments of items.

They also provide bonuses and enhancements. They can be purchased from the Blacksmith.

The upgrade button is available on any Best item upgrader. Every item recycled adds level to the gauge of upgrade.

Weapons

When the weapon is upgraded it gains an initial damage bonus and an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. Once the weapon is at maximum upgrade, it can be reforged with a number of different upgrade types to boost certain stats or add bonuses and effects. All of these upgrades can be applied simultaneously and the effects vary depending on how rare the weapon is.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area, and Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both upgrade materials differ: Smithing Stones to modify the kind of damage weapons deal and Somber Smithing Stones to modify the standard weapons.

In general, it is recommended to upgrade weapon damage first, then armor defense, and finally the other secondary stats that are required by your build. In particular, it's common to see melee druids upgrading their weapon prior to any other gear, as this will increase DPS. Armor
