WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the Item upgrade level by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade items your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using a button, which displays an item's preview when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The upgrade item discount increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of choices. It's also essential to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
