In contrast to other robovacs we test, the i3+ EVO comes with self-emptying bins that dump debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. The i3+ EVO can be kept from overfilling thanks to a self-emptying container. However, it must still be manually empty at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dustbin can hold 2.4L which is enough to last through four to five cleaning sessions.

Like the i7, this model also uses the latest floor sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only keep one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones but not the i3+ EVO.

The i3+ EVO is more effective of removing debris from the surface in comparison to other robovacs that we have looked at, but it's not the most effective in house cleaning robot edges and corners. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being surprisingly quiet. It was a bit rough on furniture as it pushed chairs away. It also made some collisions against the sides of the bed.

2. Black & Decker Pro Q5

The Q5 Pro is an excellent choice, whether you are expanding your robot vacuum collection, or just getting started. It packs a lot of power, advanced navigation and a user-friendly automation into a slick design at a price that is affordable. It's the most affordable model for the money available at the moment and even beats other best roborock vacuum models which are more expensive in many ways.

This robot does a fantastic job of cleaning floors with no dust, and its avoidance technology helps it steer clear of furniture legs and other obstacles. It also performs well on carpets and scores the top score in our navigation tests. The only drawback is that it's louder than other models we test and doesn't perform as well in our owners satisfaction or predicted reliability tests.

The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust bin of 770ml, meaning that you won't need to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also impressive when compared to other 2-in-1 robots we tested. If the battery is depleted it returns to its dock and recharges before resuming cleaning where it left off. You can manage the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

This is the first robot we've seen with 3D mapping. This, along with other innovations has helped it perform exceptionally well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping tests. It is possible to schedule cleanings and set up no-go zones. You can also view the battery's status. The app is simple to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit. The feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. Apple updated its footnote on its website in November of this year to reflect that the feature was delayed until 2025. HomeKit isn't compatible with several other robots, but Siri Shortcuts are.
