Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment can be superior to the more modernized Common or Magic gear because of their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the effectiveness of the item upgrade they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items with upgrade components in them using an expert or greater salvage kit.

The amount of damage that an armored item upgrader or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by an armor piece will increase as it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it should be heavier.

There are a few different kinds of armor upgrades available in the game, and they all have distinct effects. For instance, certain upgrades will give the armor a certain number of health points while others will make it lighter and stronger. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade that an item will be given, as illustrated below.

Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees in order to be used. They are referred to as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades are updated daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.

The cheapest method of upgrading armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be gathered by exploring the environment and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more costly, but is readily available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in stats and are definitely worth the cost.

The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to its max upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it can also decrease its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The boost in defense usually isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells do. Some weapons also have special enhancements that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the possibility of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed to cause more damage) are two examples.

The majority of upgrades to weapons require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing side quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.

Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a set number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars required to complete it. The cost of upgrades will be less if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could continue doing this until you reach a maximum upgrade level for the equipment or weapon, following which upgrades would reset.

This is still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off going to stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a greater likelihood of granting you most prestigious tier of advantages and benefits.

To increase their level faster, most players will be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. In addition, players should consider upgrading the weapons they use with their squadmates to make them more powerful and effective. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when accompanied with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are placed in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is a method for creating them. You combine gemstones with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or by salvaging Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The quality of a gem can be improved by the Jeweler, with stages that range from Crude to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel, it will provide a different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

The Jeweler is able to create all tiers of gems, except for the rare and legendary ones which you must be at an appropriate level to obtain. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped out by a different jewel of the same type without damaging it. However, you can only replace one jewel in an equipment piece once.

Using more jewels in the movement will make it more smooth and is usually done to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. The jewels can also enhance performance and make a surface harder than metal so that repeated friction from pivots does not damage them.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the look of your shields and weapons. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped out at any time but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, like aegis and traits, cannot be swapped out, and are only recoverable by using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are small pieces of equipment that provide a wide range of tiny but valuable advantages to your hero. You can find them in the starting area as loot or personal story rewards. They are also available from vendors as well as through completing road interaction. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket that a player will unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but valuable boost in movement speed and the ability to evade. The player can then acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar fashion to how they acquired weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be used in any type of equipment, while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with certain types of trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero is not fighting. This lets the hero be more effective while inactive, and can also help make up for a lack of a strong team or the absence of any slots in the talent tree that normally are filled with the hero's Best item upgrader stats.

As a general rule trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best item upgrade in Slot) items you won't replace in the near future. Next, any items that have desirable statistics are less significant than the iLevel of the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true if you're looking to upgrade several statistics on an item. It's more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.

Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one prior to the beginning of the game. Mid and top players, on the other hand will pick a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices can affect the ability of a hero to control the map.

Apart from the items listed above, players may also discover a variety of other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story, such as finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a particular boss. These can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
