World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader you choose and what type of upgrade you choose to perform. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). The average level of the item can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can look at the item level. It's an indicator of the item's condition and its quality. The item level can also be used to compare items when examining a vendor's inventory.

The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its level. It can also be located by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the item level is calculated. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated using a formula that calculates how valuable an item upgrading's stats really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets increase the overall value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, since the level of the area the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, such as by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major part of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrade." The base stats of a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification which are then enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. A grey or white item level upgrade, for example, will only be upgraded once, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to differentiate them by naming them.

At present, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button using the arrows that circle. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade an item to specific stats, or reroll attaches. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat within that range unless they are a unique item or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another thing that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. As with base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade item items. It gives the player an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is more advantageous in the early game, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each item level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted by using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck or to boost the luck of an item up to 140.

Additionally, certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased from the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which success rates can be increased and the probability of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.

The success of an can be affected by the Luck of that item. All items have an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
