World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will be able to gain 3percent of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate chance of failure, and a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as possible.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values that it can improve a statistic by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different amount of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback, as the item can increase in price even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can use up many resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by a factor of 10. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of the item upgrader mod, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each when you upgrade an item, it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, which requires the player to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item upgrader kit is not upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. Additionally, the item upgrade will lose any gained bonuses, including crit chance and attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to the value of the base item. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from regular gear. For example they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade.
