Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep your floors clean enough to decrease the frequency of manual hoovering. Select a vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, has the ability to clean corners and stairs and also has large bins that needs to be emptied periodically.
There are models that mop and charge themselves, which is a feature important for families with pets or children. Many of the top performers in our tests also have good obstacle avoidance.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots that differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. This makes the i3+ a good option for those looking for a hands-off, fully
automated vacuum cleaner cleaning experience but don't mind having to empty their dust bin manually when it fills up.
Both robots are adept at
cleaning robots up surface debris from carpets and hard floors and they're very adept at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have tested. It can get stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low it goes back to its docking station and automatically empties its debris into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes around three hours to recharge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can direct your robot using the app or voice.
In our tests the i7+ performed more agile and faster than our top choice, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room and vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After connecting we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households, but it also fits perfectly next to the table for a coffee or a bookshelf where you can wave it around like an enchanted device.
The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that can provide energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels clean air back into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and pick up large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to suit the task that is being completed. It quickly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum, and then back to floor.
This model has a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also gives the ability to connect two attachments and the handheld. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons, that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its limited run time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a typical not an extraordinary run time for a battery-powered cordless vac. It's enough time to clean the typical home, but not enough to reach every area. (A second run usually works). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums the 694 is an entry-level model that's a great choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It was able to pick up most types of debris and sizes in our testing and often went over the same area many times for a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it reach into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice feature.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, like our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better move its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most purposes, because it has a longer battery life, the ability to change its suction power mode manually and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It also feels more sturdy and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of automation features.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name that is seen on a variety of electronic gadgets for your home So it's no surprise that they're one of the most reputable mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.
The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior customization docking frequency settings and much more. The app is easy to use and understand, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well at avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we tried which could be a deal-breaker for some shoppers.
The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the
best robot vacuum for vinyl plank floors's area of cleaning. This feature allows you to check in on pets or kids when you're away from home. The dustbin and filter are washable to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps to keep the bin clean and optimizes suction power.

Unlike other robotic vacuums, that are specifically designed for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They come with a wide cleaning path as well as a large dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than competitors to keep the cleaning area clear for maximum runtime. They also have two side sweepers to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which senses if it's picking up dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts the power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that lets you to view the virtual map, manage functions, and schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum and connect it to its dock for charging with the touch of a single button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the
best roborock vacuum so that you can tell where it is focused or if it's stuck.
The app also makes it simple to manually steer the robot if needed. My living room rug for instance is darkly colored which could cause a problem for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however, continued to move across the border, without notifying the cliff. Also, the ability to set up the weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
