World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item upgrades level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the item to which it is used (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item upgrader kit's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure what will be improved following an update.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it's possible that the item will become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.

In the endgame, you will often find that the Best item upgrader way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is best to place Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is advanced in level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a problem in that it could cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can waste lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). The item level upgrade can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an item, it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like chances to be crit attack damage, additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is computed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
