Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Typically, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or additional effect, when the equipment is being used.
