WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The
Item Level Upgrade upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
You can
upgrade items your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be bought by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an The button will show the preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the
item upgrade and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an
item upgrader mod has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Upgraders for items can be found at many locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through several methods which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was altered a bit, with numerous new features added. After a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same
item level upgrade level, will cost less. This applies even if the items come from an entirely different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the type or equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons with any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't too complicated, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. It's
Best item upgrade to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
