Choosing a Stroller That's Right For You
A stroller is an often foldable four-wheeled carriage which small children can be pulled in. It's a great option to go for a leisurely run or walk outdoors.
Kidsland offers a wide range of
combi single stroller and dual strollers. The Peg Perego PrimoViaggio 3-in-1 Car/Stroller is among our top sellers.
Choosing a Stroller
Strollers are the best baby companions. They allow parents to easily transport their children around town and take them to the great outdoors, or navigate crowded shopping malls. However, choosing the best stroller for your child as well as your family's needs is crucial to a smooth ride. To select a stroller that's suitable for you, first consider where you'll use it and how often. Will it need to take on tough terrains, fit in a compact car trunk, or navigate narrow doorways? Consider whether you will be walking in the city or hiking in the woods. After you've decided on the type of stroller and features you want you can test drive several models.
Start with some laps around the parking lot to get familiar with its handling and maneuvers. If you'll be using it for jogging, test the wheels for durability and check how they move over bumps and uneven sidewalks. Choose if you'd like a basket to store your essentials or a reclining chair for infants. Make sure that the handlebars can be positioned to allow you to walk comfortably and that there is enough room for the child of your size to sit in the seat.
If you're planning on having more kids in the near future, think about purchasing a single stroller that converts into a double, or allows you to add a stroller board (for toddlers). Babylist parents tell us that one of their biggest regrets with strollers is not buying an convertible model when they had the chance.
If you're planning to use the stroller in rainy or other bad weather ensure that the accessories like sun umbrellas and rain covers are attached quickly and easily. Don't forget to think about safety. Make sure you have a five-point harness that is easy to buckle and unbuckle, a secure seating position and sturdy brakes. Check the hinges for sharp edges or areas where fingers could be stuck. Check that the stroller meets local and state safety regulations. Last but not least, test it out with your child to make sure you both feel comfortable.
Strollers for One child
You may only require a single
Stroller Single if you have only one child. These strollers are typically smaller than larger strollers and come with the same safety features. They also come with a large canopy that protects your child from sun and wind. They're also generally more mobile and have fewer components that may break.
If your baby is still young and still in an infant car seat, an all-in-one stroller with a built-in infant carrier might be the perfect choice for you. These strollers have sturdy frames that can be used to hold several seats or even a second car seat. They are generally easier to use and are less expensive upfront than convertible or double strollers.
A stroller that is all-in-one can be a great option for older children. These strollers have a large, spacious basket to store your child's belongings and can accommodate most baby diaper bags. They're also easy to steer and are narrow enough to fit through a doorway or bathroom stall. Additionally, they fold easily and can be stored in a closet or the backseat of the vehicle for easy transport.
If you're seeking a stroller that will grow with your family, consider a convertible model. These strollers have a base frame which can accommodate up to two toddler seats, or even a baby bassinet. (Adapters and carriers are available separately). They're generally more expensive than single-seat strollers but they're a great option for families who want to travel light and have flexibility in terms of seating. The UPPAbaby vista V2 is a stroller that can be converted with premium features that can hold up to three children (age-dependent).
Strollers for Two children
A double stroller can help you transport two children at once when you have more than one. There are a myriad of options available like tandems, side-by-sides and wagons. A majority of the double strollers we tested can accommodate an additional child seat or even a third when you add a piggyback ride-along board (sold separately). Tandem strollers are available in different models to meet the needs of different ages and stages. However, they are often heavier and larger than side-by-side models.
Parents of twins would like twin strollers that have the same seating arrangement as their children. They'll likely require one that can fit two infant car seats at once and this is something that only a few of our top-rated double strollers can offer. Twins who are near in age or abilities might be better off with a tandem stroller, but the type of seating will depend on the distance between them in age and the features each prefers.
In our tests, all the tandem strollers that we tested were easy to maneuver with a big turning radius. They did not turn as smoothly in tight spaces as a
pushchair single stroller and can be a challenge to maneuver around curbs. The majority of the strollers we reviewed fit in the majority of doors that are standard, but they might have a narrow aisle than one stroller.
Some of the side-by-sides that we test had a second toddler's seat however, you could not swap them in and out. This could be beneficial if your kids are at different ages. The UPPAbaby Vista V2 Double is an exception to this rule and it allows you to easily switch between double and
cheap single buggy mode with its convertible frame.
Side-by-side strollers are by far the most popular design in our double stroller category and we've tested a few of the best options that are available. They provide the convenience of keeping both children in sight at all times, and most have plenty of storage space for your equipment. Some include parent consoles that aid in keeping on top of your child's desires and needs. Some are priced at the same price as our best single strollers, but others are more expensive.
Strollers for three children
You'll need a stroller that can accommodate all your children if you have three (or two older twins and one singleton). This is a significant purchase, so it's best to shop around and look for a model that is suited to your family's size, lifestyle and budget.
Try the Graco Ready2GrowLX three stroller if you want an infant stroller that grows with your kids. It has a front seat that can hold bassinets for infants or car seats and a back bench seat that can convert to a toddler's seat for children up to 6 months of age. The seat can also be used as a platform that can be used as a standing one for children in preschool and you can also use the included parent tray with cup holders and storage compartments.
Another fantastic triple stroller is the Joovy Big Caboose. It comes with two forward-facing reclined car seats that can fit children up to 32 inches tall. The rear seat accessory can be added to the stroller to make it triple tandem, which includes a regular third seat for your eldest child. This model is ideal for twins and siblings that are similar in age. The older child will be in the front seat, while the younger one will be in the rear.
Quad strollers are very popular with parents. They are essentially double strollers with an additional seat at the back. These models aren't as easy to maneuver, but they provide more seating options to the traditional double. One option is the Foundations Trio Sport 4-Person Stroller which is affordable and has great reviews from parents who have used it.
Strollers can be used to transport your kids and give them a secure and comfortable spot to relax while you're out. When it's time to buy a stroller, it is important to be aware of the differences between single and double strollers so that you can choose the best model for your household. Whatever model you choose, it's always important to choose an item that is compliant with US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) standards and comes with an ergonomic handlebar that is comfortable to push and steer for long periods of time.
