Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep your floors tidy enough to reduce the frequency of hoovering manually. Choose one that has good navigation, can clean stairs and corners, and has a large dust bin that has to be emptied only periodically.

There are models that mop and charge themselves This feature could be important for people with pets or kids. The top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a great option for those looking for a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dust bin after it has filled up.

Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we evaluated the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles which means it can be stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it started. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest technology. It is self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor washing robot plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or voice.

In our testing, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning robots for home sessions, move itself around the room and vacuum the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with vacuums that are cordless and are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households and can fit perfectly next to the table for a coffee or a bookshelf that you can spin around like an enchanted device.

The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that produces power without fading for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to match the task being performed. It is able to swiftly switch between handheld and floor auto vacuum cleaner and vice versa.

The model also comes with a dock that charges to 100% in around 3.5 hours, and gives users easy access to two attachments and a wand clip. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons models, which require a lengthy charge and are a pain to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its limited running time. The tests conducted by CR show that its claims to run up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a typical and not a remarkable time to run a battery-powered cordless vac. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to cover every spot (though an additional run-through often can be effective). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior on low-pile floor carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgOne of the most well-known robot vacuums the 694 is a basic model that's an excellent option for those who don't want to spend too much on a robot. It was able to remove all kinds of debris and sizes during our tests, and frequently went over the same area multiple times for a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top selections and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistance. It also feels better-built and has a stronger motor, and is able to perform better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a greater variety of automation features.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in the field of home electronics. It's no surprise that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app offers a variety of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. This includes virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior modifications docking frequency settings, and more. The app is easy to learn and use, just like other Samsung devices.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. However, it wasn't particularly well in avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was a disappointment. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we've tested and could be a deal-breaker for certain shoppers.

The smart Best combo Vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access via the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you keep track of your pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned to ensure an easy, quick clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps keep the bin clean and maximizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are made for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds twice as much debris than other models to keep the area free of debris for the longest period of time. They also include two side sweepers for cleaning around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which can tell if it's picking up surface litter or embedded dirt and then automatically adjusts the power level. It also has a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. Plus, you can monitor the battery's status and then return it to its dock for charging at the push of one button. The app also allows you to customize the LED lights on top of the vacuum by using different colors, so that you can clearly see what areas it's focusing on or where it's gotten stuck.

The application also allows you to steer the robot manually in the event of need. My living room rug, for instance, has a darkly-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving convenience.
