Jumpstarting the battery

Most people keep an assortment of tools in their trunks to jump-start a car in case of emergency, but it might not be the best idea for vehicles that are newer. A voltage surge when batteries are connected to another one could cause damage to the parts and render your vehicle unusable.

Connect the cables to the vehicle operating. Allow it to run for two minutes. Attach the red clip to the positive terminal on the battery that is good (it will have "POS" or "+" on it).
